Losing Weight Without Dieting









Technically speaking, the act of weight loss is actually really simple. All that you really have to do is to cut down on the amount of calories that you take in every day, and exercise more. When your body finds that it is incapable of extracting the required amount of energy from the food that you are consuming, it is going to begin to burn away the fat deposits all over your body including in your waist and other trouble spots. In other words, the most natural way that you are going to be able to lose weight is simply to lower the number of calories that you are eating so that you are expending more calories that you are consuming.




When you burn energy, the energy is going to come from your body, allowing you to burn more calories than you take in. This is the equation for weight loss, simply put.


This is the most natural and the most healthy approach to losing weight but it is not always as easy as it seems. This is why so many people end up turning to fad diets looking for the next great way to lose weight without any effort. Many people are turning toward pills known as fat blockers or as fat binders. The way that these pills supposedly work is by reducing how much fat your body takes out of the food that you need. A well known example of a fat blocker is Orlistat, or Alli.


The purpose of these fat blockers is actually to inhibit what is known as the lipase enzyme within your intestines, and this is the enzyme that is responsible for breaking up the fat so that it is ready for digestion. The result is that the fat is not capable of being absorbed by your body, and so it passes more freely through your bowel, meaning that you are not absorbing nearly as much fat as before. Fat binders work a bit differently, in that they bind to the molecules of fat and they make the fat impossible to absorb by the intestines. Both fat blockers and fat binders do have some pretty uncomfortable side effects including anal discharge that is uncontrollable for example. Additionally, you should consider that removing fat from your body in this way is not very healthy although it will provide for some weight loss. But is it worth it?


Another type of common weight loss supplement is an appetite suppressant. The way that these work is by cutting down on your appetite so that you think you are full already. Hoodia Gordonni is an example of an herbal supplement used for this purpose. It is a plant that is similar to a cactus but it grows in Southern Africa. It has capabilities for suppressing appetite that has been well known in many regions for a long time.
