Let’s look at the results of the 2022 CrossFit Games below!

2022 CrossFit Games Results & Recap

As mentioned above we saw two well-known athletes win their respective divisions but it wasn’t an easy competition as some newer athletes gave the champs a run for their money.

Speaking of money, this year had the biggest CrossFit prize purse of nearly $3 million!

Below you’ll find the top ten finishers in both the Men’s and Women’s Elite divisions.

2022 CrossFit Games Men’s Elite Results

Justin Medeiros has won the CrossFit Games back-to-back and is only the third athlete to do so along with Mat Fraser and Rich Froning. Even though Medeiros didn’t come in first place in any of the 13 events he still managed to stand on top of the leaderboard.

At only 23 years old, Medeiros now has two titles under his belt. Towards the beginning of the competition, it didn’t look like Medeiros was going to wind up winning it all as it was Ricky Gerard who was crushing the competition. Then once Medeiros was able to squeak past Gerard he had to fend off Roman Khrennikov.

It was Medeiros’ composure and ability to do well under the stress that enabled him to win it all. Medeiros had a terrific year with this massive win plus his wins in the 2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals and 2022 CrossFit Semifinals.

The top 10 men are listed below:

  1. Justin Medeiros: 1184
  2. Roman Khrennikov: 1157
  3. Ricky Gerard: 1068
  4. Samuel Kwant: 975
  5. Jeffrey Adler: 950
  6. Patrick Vellner: 892
  7. Jayson Hopper: 887
  8. Lazar Dukic: 850
  9. Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson: 841
  10. Guilherme Malheiros: 831

2022 CrossFit Games Women’s Elite Results

Tia-Clair Toomey is now the winningest athlete in the sports’ history as this is her sixth title in a row! Toomey started the competition in good form with a second-place finish. She then had a tough second event but caught her stride over days two and three where she jumped to the top of the leaderboard.

Even before the final event had begun, Toomey had already clinched the title. The athletes that finished just behind Toomey are some of the up-and-comers that you can expect to see towards the top of the leaderboards for the next years. For example, Mallory O’Brien the second place finisher is just 18 years old!

The greatness of Toomey can’t be denied as people weren’t even sure if she would be focused enough to place in the Games after her brief stint in Olympic bobsledding. 2022 was another great year for Toomey as she won at the 2022 Torian Pro and 2022 CrossFit Quarterfinals.

  1. Tia-Clair Toomey: 1158
  2. Mallory O’Brien: 1045
  3. Laura Horvath: 981
  4. Danielle Brandon: 937
  5. Brooke Wells: 904
  6. Emma Lawson: 893
  7. Kara Saunders: 890
  8. Gabriela Migala: 868
  9. Haley Adams: 867
  10. Alexis Raptis: 859

CLOSING THOUGHTS

This year’s CrossFit season was filled with big headlines from the beginning of the year when Dave Castro was fired to how the games ended with both Medeiros and Toomey in first place once again. We can’t wait to see how the next few years play out as there are new athletes on everyone’s radar so no one will be comfortable moving forward. What a season!
